In January 2020, a group of friends and I traveled to Japan for Love Live Fest, a concert with all 3 generations of Love Live (μ’s, Aqours, and Nijigasaki). On our first full day in Tokyo, we went to Studio Nanairo in Asakusa for an oiran photoshoot. 10/10 would recommend! They did our hair & make-up, dressed us, and took our photos. Their English was really good, and I truly appreciated how they asked us questions and gave us options every step of the way. Once we were in front of the camera, they posed us and made sure every fold of the fabric was perfect. And hearing, “kawaii!” and “so pretty!” throughout the shoot certainly didn’t hurt the ego. If you’re traveling to Tokyo and want to experience an oiran photoshoot, I definitely recommend this place. Even if you know barely any Japanese, like me. Here are some of my photos, and let me tell you: I have never felt sexier.
And here’s the full group! I love how well each person’s outfit reflected their own personality and aesthetic.
